Meet Valentino

Help Us Give the Gift of Hearing

Valentino Morales Cervantes is a brave and bright child, who is in urgent need of cochlear implants — a life-changing step toward accessing sound, speech, and connection with the world around him.

​

Valentino is one of the children we were honored to serve during our recent mission trip to Peru, where we provided speech-generating AAC devices to more than 40 families. We also offered training and coaching to their caregivers and therapists to support the development of meaningful, functional communication skills.

​

Valentino has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy and is a quadriplegic, relying on a wheelchair for mobility. He also has profound hearing loss.

​

The cost of cochlear implants and the associated medical care can exceed $30,000, a significant barrier for many families in under-resourced areas.

With cochlear implant surgery, Valentino could gain access to sound for the first time — opening a new world of opportunities for language development, learning, and deeper engagement with those around him. But this journey comes with challenges.
